09/27/10

--The organization announces this year’s Dinner Chair, Ron Jaworski, and dinner honorees, Kanalstein Danton Associates and Dr. Steven Bromley --
On Friday, October 22nd at The Westin Mount Laurel, Bancroft will hold its Butterfly Ball, a premier fund-raising event that attracts about 300 guests each year. The Butterfly Ball is an honored tradition that celebrates Bancroft’s unique mission to ensure that every person is given opportunities for lifelong learning and fulfillment.
The opening reception of this year’s Black Tie Event begins at 6:30PM, with dinner at 8PM. This year’s Dinner Chair is Ron Jaworski, former NFL great, and during dinner, the organization will recognize distinguished honorees including Kanalstein Danton Associates and Dr. Steven Bromley.
This year’s Corporate and Community Leadership Award will be presented to Kanalstein Danton Associates, PA, because of the firm’s strong support and collaboration on several important Bancroft building projects.
Also this year, Bancroft will present the Margaret Bancroft Award to neurologist Steven M. Bromley, M.D., of Bromley Neurology in Audubon, N.J., and a clinical assistant professor of neurology at UMDNJ- Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in Camden.
The proceeds from the Butterfly Ball go towards the Bancroft Fund, which is the unrestricted donations the organization needs and relies on to support its programs and services annually. The Bancroft Fund supports every aspect of the educational and life experience of those served by Bancroft, from facility improvements to assistive technology, extracurricular activities to vocational training.

  •   Citing Joint Base as McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst as “an extremely valuable asset to the Burlington/Ocean county community,” the Burlington County Chamber of Commerce wants “to grow it into an even more valuable base than it already is.”
According to Chamber President Kristi Howell-Ikeda, “in this way we will automatically be ready for the next Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) rounds which are expected to come in 2013 and 2015.”

  •    As many of you know, I’m a contestant in a local version of Dancing with the Stars that benefits the Cherry Hill Education Foundation and will take place on May 6th.
As expected, the event sold out in March, but you can still support this great cause. I hope that you will consider supporting me and my partner, Joe DeMarco from DeMarco Dance Studio as we dance the night away and compete against 15 other couples in categories that include best overall production, most creative dance, and best performance.
