Lights Out - a popular four part, male a cappella group

Lights Out, a popular four part, male a cappella group formed in 1998, was quickly embraced by a strong Philadelphia area fan base. Within a year, they became “regulars” recognized for singing the national anthem at the Philadelphia Phillies games and other professional sporting events.
Seasoned music professionals took notice and began to mentor this talented group. Lights Out spent several years under the careful guidance of Michael McCary – bass voice of famed group Boyz II Men. During this period, Lights Out also began working with Rockapella’s renowned “Carmen Sandiego” bass voice Barry Carl. Both Michael and Barry appreciated the group’s talent and helped them attain professional management.
Shortly thereafter, Lights Out began opening shows for major label artists including Martina McBride and Trisha Yearwood. They performed along with other artists in “United for Liberty” – an internationally televised concert in response to the attacks of September 11. They were also exclusively chosen to perform for a Miss Teen USA gala. In September of 2006, the group entertained over 100,000 NASCAR fans at Dover Downs Raceway with the national anthem.
Lights Out has developed a unique a cappella style while continuing to perform at venues throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Recently, they have performed as an opening act for legendary groups including The Dovells and Little Anthony and the Imperials. Plans for 2007 include adding performances in cities such as New York and Atlantic City – while continuing to be a formidable presence in the Philadelphia market.
