  January is not a big month for “don’t miss” events, But it is home to one of, if not “the,” premier events of the year—the State Chamber’s annual “Walk to Washington.”
  The tradition began in 1937 when several of the state's top business executives took a train to Washington to have dinner with New Jersey's congressional delegation. The rest is history. The Walk to Washington obtained its name when participants realized that few sit on the train; they literally walk the train mingling and exchanging business cards the whole way to Washington.
  And there’s no doubt that Gloucester County’s eighth annual State of the County breakfast on the 13th should be on your list. Ditto the South Jersey Chamber’s Legislative Reception on the 18th.

  • Rutgers Quarterly Business Outlook: Forum on Green Energy Focuses on Solar

       It was a new format and a new location for the Rutgers Quarterly Business Outlook last month as a panel of experts took on the topic of Green Energy.
       Ralph LaRossa, President and Chief Operating Officer of PSE&G, reminded a crowd of 300 South Jersey business leaders packed into the Rutgers-Camden Student Center conference hall that the state’s energy master plan calls for 22.5% of the state’s power to come from renewable sources by 2021.
