CORNERSTONE BANK -- CONSTRUCTION OF NEW BRANCH

12/08/07

MOORESTOWN, N.J. - Cornerstone Bank expects high growth in the next few years, but the eight-year-old institution plans to start in its hometown.

Along with the town’s elected officials, Cornerstone CEO George Matteo and Moorestown Mayor Kevin Aberant broke ground on the new Main Street location on Oct. 26, at the corner of King’s Highway and Union Street.

“We planned the new branch with our customers in mind,” said Cornerstone CEO George Matteo. “Cornerstone Bank aims to be a convenient resource to both Moorestown individuals and businesses,” he said.

The growing bank plans to establish blue and gold standards of convenience by adding several new branches in the coming years. For now, Cornerstone’s new location will give the company more visibility.

In turn, Moorestown clientele enjoys more accessibility than the easy-to-miss Route 38 location off Pleasant Valley Road.

“As a Moorestown resident myself, I believe I speak for others when I say that I value a business that practices good citizenship and civic responsibility,” said Matteo. “Our new home brings us closer to our customers and will help us serve them even better.”

  •   January is not a big month for “don’t miss” events, But it is home to one of, if not “the,” premier events of the year—the State Chamber’s annual “Walk to Washington.”
The tradition began in 1937 when several of the state's top business executives took a train to Washington to have dinner with New Jersey's congressional delegation. The rest is history. The Walk to Washington obtained its name when participants realized that few sit on the train; they literally walk the train mingling and exchanging business cards the whole way to Washington.
