SNJ Business People

Thanks for a Really Good Year!

12/27/09

It wasn’t an easy year. But, in most of the ways that really matter, it was a really good year for us at SNJ Business People.
More people were doing more interesting things across the region than ever before. So our editorial coverage expanded—with new features like “People to Watch.”
Despite the lackluster economy, deals kept getting made and new projects kept hitting the drawing boards. So, we’ve added a new feature called “Projects to Watch” to go along with our Quarterly Economic Impact Awards, which recognize watershed efforts like the Burlington County River Route and the 200 new businesses and $2 billion in new investment that it has attracted to the old Route 130 Corridor.
People in the not-for-profit world kept hitting home runs with projects like the Salvation Army’s Kroc Community Center in Camden, the launch of the new Community Foundation of South Jersey, and the Camden County United Way’s “Financial Stability” Initiative. So, we’ve expanded our coverage of the wonderful world of NPOs.
And, as the region grows, we grow. We’re printing more pages, running more column inches of stories, and welcoming new advertisers in every issue.
We think that our success is directly tied to our editorial philosophy—focus on the good news about the people and companies that make South Jersey home.
It works for us. And, based on your feedback, it works for you, too.
Here’s to a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year for all of us!

At full build out, the Park will include seven multi-story buildings with a total of over 400,000 square feet of laboratory and research space located on the campus of the FAA William J. Hughes Technical Center which is the nation’s leading air transportation Federal Facility.

  •   January is not a big month for “don’t miss” events, But it is home to one of, if not “the,” premier events of the year—the State Chamber’s annual “Walk to Washington.”
The tradition began in 1937 when several of the state's top business executives took a train to Washington to have dinner with New Jersey's congressional delegation. The rest is history. The Walk to Washington obtained its name when participants realized that few sit on the train; they literally walk the train mingling and exchanging business cards the whole way to Washington.
