Liberty Communications Makes Mid-Quarter Roster Moves

02/16/10

Liberty Communications & Data Systems, Inc., a regional leader in business communications, officially announced today the resignation of two long standing staff members; Service Manager Brian Davis and Project Manager Brian O’Neill.
Davis and O’Neill’s resignation came as no surprise as the two had spoke to Liberty owner Gerry Gordon over a month ago about their desire to start their own company. When asked about the duo’s departure Gordon had nothing but kind things to say, “Brian and Brian have been a great value to the Liberty team over the years, they are extremely talented guys and I wish them great success and I look forward to a continued relationship with them outside of our businesses.”
While countless Liberty customers have grown to know and love the two, our customers should continue to expect superior service when dealing with Liberty CDS. Liberty Senior Sales Executive Tom Laverty understands the possible customer concerns and says there should be no worries, “Brian and Brian were great and they made each of our new installs run smoothly, I will certainly miss them and wish them all the luck in the world, but when it comes to customer service we have an excellent staff that is eager and willing to ensure ultimate customer satisfaction, and that’s something that doesn’t leave with two former
employees.”
The roster changes at Liberty may seem abrupt to some, but in fact the changes have been carefully orchestrated over the past several months as Liberty has been transitioning much of its focus to data and IT services to compliment existing telephone service. Gerry Gordon explains, “The industry is changing and we have to keep up or get lost in the shuffle, as owner it is my job to ensure that we don’t fall behind. Everything in telecom is going to the IT side, VoIP telephony is changing the industry, therefore it is my responsibility to change the internal workings of the company to ensure that we hire people with strong IT and data backgrounds.”
Beginning Monday February 8th Liberty welcomes back into the mix former technician Jeff Isaia who will handle the inside day to day operations of the telephone service and installation departments for Liberty. To compliment Liberty’s IT and data focus veteran technician Tom Osborne will also be joining the Liberty team bringing years of IT and data experience. Finally, Liberty has also finalized their search for a veteran operations manager who brings a strong mix of data and telecom experience to the table and will be named within the next couple weeks.

  •   January is not a big month for “don’t miss” events, But it is home to one of, if not “the,” premier events of the year—the State Chamber’s annual “Walk to Washington.”
The tradition began in 1937 when several of the state's top business executives took a train to Washington to have dinner with New Jersey's congressional delegation. The rest is history. The Walk to Washington obtained its name when participants realized that few sit on the train; they literally walk the train mingling and exchanging business cards the whole way to Washington.
