  • SNJBP Readers Poll…No Interest in Reality TV (Really?)

       We got tired of always asking serious questions, so this month we decided to find out how the region’s business leaders would fare as Las Vegas bookies.
       Actually, we made it a lot more simple than establishing a betting line, or setting odds, or calculating point spreads or over/unders. All we asked our readers to do was predict which of the four major sports franchises had the best shot to win a championship this year…and subsequently be awash in hometown pride during a parade down Broad Street.

  • SNJBP Readers Poll: Should DRPA sell PATCO? Should SJTA sell the Atlantic City Airport?

    Don’t sell!
      That’s the overwhelming response of the region’s business leaders to two (unrelated) proposals to sell the Delaware River port Authority’s PATCO Hi-Speed Line that connects Lindenwold to Philadelphia and the South Jersey Transportation Authority’s Atlantic City International Airport in Pomona.
      When we asked business leaders if DRPA should it sell its PATCO High Speed Line, if it could find a buyer, 77% said no.

  • SNJBP Datebook: January 2012

      January is not a big month for “don’t miss” events, But it is home to one of, if not “the,” premier events of the year—the State Chamber’s annual “Walk to Washington.”
      The tradition began in 1937 when several of the state's top business executives took a train to Washington to have dinner with New Jersey's congressional delegation. The rest is history. The Walk to Washington obtained its name when participants realized that few sit on the train; they literally walk the train mingling and exchanging business cards the whole way to Washington.
