  As you probably know, every month we ask our supporters to help our readers by responding to what, we hope, are some thoughtful, real-world questions that can make a difference to business leaders in South Jersey.
   This month, we asked experts in the banking and financial services world to take a look at the year ahead and give us a reading on where we should expect to stand…nationally and in the region.

   The mission of the Next Generation Aviation Research Park (ARTP) is to promote sustained economic growth and job creation throughout New Jersey and the nation by implementing and operating a cooperative, state-of-the-art aviation Research Park that will support the evolution of the Next Generation aviation environment.
   At full build out, the Park will include seven multi-story buildings with a total of over 400,000 square feet of laboratory and research space located on the campus of the FAA William J. Hughes Technical Center which is the nation’s leading air transportation Federal Facility.

   As the old year drew to a close, we asked some of the region’s key leaders in business, government and the non-profit world to look into their crystal balls and give us their take on what 2012 has in store for us.
   Here’s what they had to say in response to two questions:
   1. As a leader in South Jersey, how do you see 2012 unfolding? Do you anticipate any significant developments? And, if you do, what are they?
   2. How do you expect the year ahead to compare with the year just ending?

   Known throughout the region as the Rowan Boulevard project, the creation of the “quintessential college town” is an ambitious, $300 million redevelopment project linking the University with Glassboro’s downtown retail district.
And it’s the winner of this month SNJ Business People Economic Impact Award.
   Through a public/private partnership between the borough, developer Sora Holdings, and Rowan, the boulevard is becoming a corridor lined with shops and restaurants on the street level, topped by apartments and offices.

   Whether you missed the recent ACHLA meeting at the Golden Nugget recently, or simply want an easy reference to the key messages, here is a quick recap.
   The group heard from John F. Palmieri, Executive Director, Casino Reinvestment Development Authority, who recounted his first five weeks in office as well as previewed plans for the near future.
   “I’m still getting the lay of the land,” Palmieri said. “I’ve met with casino executives and other local decision makers, and am impressed with the quality of folks who want to see Atlantic City succeed.”
