  He’s loaded trucks in the 100-degree heat in Jersey City…delivered the New York Daily News in his native Brooklyn…and sold beer at Islanders games to work his way through law school.
  He was also a 13-year old eyewitness to the bank robbery and hostage incident that inspired the hit Al Pacino movie “Dog Day Afternoon”…and saw his collegiate hockey career end after just one minute on the ice—thanks to a broken collarbone.

  The Aviation Research and Technology Park broke ground on a seven-building, multi-million dollar project that will create over 2000 jobs and diversify the regional economy.  
  Federal, state and local officials joined with Dr. Herman J. Saatkamp, Jr., Chairman of the Board of Trustees, in breaking ground for the Park. Ambassador William J. Hughes, United States Senator Robert Menendez, Congressman Frank LoBiondo, Atlantic County Executive Dennis Levinson, SJEDD Executive Director Gordon Dahl, CRDA Executive Director Thomas D. Carver, and NJ DOT Commissioner Stephen Dilts all participated in the groundbreaking ceremonies.

  With generous support from the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation and the Annie E. Casey Foundation, and in response to community goals set forth in the Cooper Lanning Human Capital Plan, the Greater Camden Partnership began the Camden Community GreenUp, a pilot “clean and green” vacant lot stabilization program in Camden, NJ.  In just 11 weeks, GreenUp will have managed to:
  -  remediate more than 141,000 square feet of vacant space;
  -  mobilize more than 200 volunteers; and
  -  translate a $60,000 funding commitment into a $150,000 project with the help of many, many community partners,. 

  As you know, this year, your favorite regional business publication has been profiling South Jersey’s People to Watch for the past two years.
  Now we’re going to turn our attention from “people” to “projects.” Specifically, we’re going to go county-by-county and look at the development and redevelopment Projects to Watch, including:
  • the five most important projects completed in the last 12 months,
  • the five most important projects underway, and
  • the five most important projects on the drawing board

Burlco’s Donnelley Cites ‘Wave of Economic Recovery’ and Glouco’s Sweeney Says ‘We Need to Grow’
  Optimism was the order of the day as Camden, Burlington and Gloucester Counties presented their fourth annual tri-county economic development summit on October 16th at the Westin in Mount Laurel.
  Burlington County Freeholder Director Joe Donnelley set the tone early, saying his county is ”proud to ride a wave of economic recovery.”
